Study Abroad

The purpose of the Study Abroad program is to encourage the development of intercultural and international understanding. The course offerings promote travel study classes throughout the world that will encourage students to experience living abroad, helping them appreciate global issues through the lens of another culture or language and to develop a deeper understanding of the world around them, their country, and themselves.

Spanish in Spain: June 26 - July 19, 2025

Join Napa Valley College Spanish Professor Nicole Carrier [email protected] for NVC's annual Spanish Immersion Program in Salamanca, Spain this summer. The program begins in Madrid, where you will spend a day touring the city and visit the world famous Prado Museum and Royal Palace. After two nights, take a private motorcoach to Salamanca, where you will meet your host family and settle into this laidback university town. Spanish classes are carried out every morning from 9:00am-1:00pm, leaving you with plenty of time to explore.

Your host family will cook you breakfast, lunch and dinner every day, if you wish. This program also includes an excursion to the beautiful towns of Segovia and La Granja.

International Business & Statistics in Japan: July 6 - July 18, 2025

Join Business Professor Claudette Shatto [email protected] and Math Professor Ana Clare Elizarrarás anaclare.elizarrará[email protected] this summer for an enriching journey in Japan, where students can choose between the International Business class or the required Business Math class: Statistics!

Tokyo and Osaka will serve as our dynamic classrooms as we dive into Japan's unique business culture. Experience the intersection of tradition and innovation through visits to cutting-edge startups and established corporations, along with immersive cultural activities. Explore Japan’s rich heritage with visits to vibrant markets, serene temples, and iconic sites.

Students opting for the Statistics class will engage in statistical learning through real-world applications related to their experiences in Japan, culminating in projects that enhance their understanding of business analytics in an international context. Both classes will feature a hands-on sushi-making class, blending culinary art with cultural insight.

This program offers the flexibility to tailor the experience to your academic goals, making it a valuable opportunity whether your interests lie in business, statistics, culture, or cuisine. Join us for a journey that promises to broaden your perspective and leave a lasting impression!
